9.00am - 9.15am: Attendance taking.
9.15am - 10.00am: Camp briefing regarding the annual guides camp on what to prepare for it.
10.00am - 10.30am: Everyone is to assemble at the foyer, after attendance is taken, the bus will leave at 10.30pm sharp.
10.30pm - 11pm: Trip to Science Centre to view the 'Polar Bears' at the Omnitheatre.
11pm - 12pm: Time given to explore the Science Centre.
12pm - 12.30pm: The 'Polar Bears' Show will begin at 12.00pm and end approximately at 12.30pm.
12.30pm - 1pm: Guides whom parents are fetching them from school will take the shutter bus back to school and arrive at school at 1pm approximately. Other guides whom are leaving from the Science Centre will be dismissed at around 12.30pm.
All guides take note, please bring a light snack tomorrow and have a heavy breakfast before coming. For guides that have not handed up their various testwork (see previous post), please do so by tomorrow.
Here are the clauses for the crime prevention badge, health badge and heritage badge
Crime Prevention 1. Keep a log book of articles, newspaper cuttings, photographs/pictures on crime prevention. Marks will be awarded for content, effort and presentation.
2. Design a poster measuring at least 37.5 cm by 27.5 cm with any form of
materials depicting the theme on crime prevention. Marks will be awarded for
message, effort and presentation.
Health1. Keep the Guide Health Record for two months prior to the test
2. Discuss with the tester how she maintains good hygiene with regards to taking care of her hair, face and body.
3. Bring to the test two pairs of her own shoes to
a. Explain their suitability for different occasions
b. Explain the dangers of ill-fitting and unsuitable footwear
4. Explain to the tester how
a. health is affected by hygiene, smoking, food, drink, dieting and sleeping habits
b. she spends her leisure time to show that she is practising a healthy lifestyle.
5. Explain to the tester the importance of good eye care and cite some good practices that can be carried out.
6. Do a Log Book to show the following
a. The structure and function of teeth
b. The various oral hygiene aids and their uses
c. The importance of good nutrition for good dental health
d. 6 examples of food which contain ‘hidden’ sugar and how they affect dental health
7. Explain how a young child can be taught to practice good oral hygiene
Heritage1. Visit a building or area of interest and give an account of her discoveries.
2. Know a story of the vicinity in the past, or describe the area at one period in the past.
3. Choose one of the following and discover something about its’ local legend, custom or craft; or discover the origin of six local place names.
4. Know something of the lives of three people who have played an interesting role in the history of Singapore

9.15am- 12.45am: All levels (sec1-3) -Campcraft.
Concurrently, sec 2s and 3s who have not been tested for their Health Badge will be tested by Ms Lin.
The Health clauses to be tested are:
1. Discuss with the tester how she maintains good hygiene with regards to taking care of her hair, face and body.
2. Bring to the test two pairs of her own shoes to
a. Explain their suitability for different occasions
b. Explain the dangers of ill-fitting and unsuitable footwear
3. Explain to the tester how:
a. health is affected by hygiene, smoking, food, drink, dieting and sleeping habits
b. she spends her leisure time to show that she is practising a healthy lifestyle.

Camp craft9.15-10.15: Sec 1s will be doing tent pitching
Sec 2s will be doing fire lighting
Sec 3s will be doing demonstrations if needed, sec 3 guides from 1st coy will do fire lighting, while those from 2nd coy will do tent pitching.
10.15-11.15: Sec 1s will be doing fire lighting
Sec 2s will be doing tent pitching
Sec 3s from 1st coy will do tent pitching, those from 2nd coy will do fire lighting
11.15-12.15: Sec 1s will do shoe rack and knots with sec 2s (1st coy)
Sec 2s will do baggage rack with sec 3s (2nd coy)
12.15-12.45: All levels will split into their new camp patrols. Due to the change, patrols might have to re-do their cheers,meal planning, gadget making etc. For those patrols with majority of the same guides present, you will plan out your skit and patrol banner.

9.15am – 12.45pm:
CLs (Lixuan and Cassandra) will be in charge of the camp craft activity overall, ensuring the the timing for each activity is adhered to.
Sec 1 commanders (Janice and Menakah) will be overall in charge for sec 1 camp craft.
Sec2 commanders (Weishuang and Charmaine) will be overall in charge for sec 2 camp craft.
ACLs (Yitong and Serena) will be overall in charge of sec 3s according to their respective coys.
The following Sec3s (Elin, Andrea, Serena, Yitong, Charmaine, Sihui) may be called out to rehearse for the Sec1 orientation campfire and keep track of the time, ensuring that the whole programme would not exceed the given time.
The QMs (Rebecca and Deborah) will take note of materials that each patrol borrowed from the guide den and ensure that everything is returned after the activity.
ACLs (Yitong and Serena) will do a quick check to make sure that each venue is in its original condition after all the activities and nothing is left behind. (eg. holes dug are covered, no litter left behind etc.)
The rest of the Sec 3 guides will give a recap and do demonstrations for camp craft. Sec 3s should also ensure that guides take their water breaks when needed.

Sec2s and Sec3s: Quick recap on gadget making. As not all sec 3s will be available for each patrol, guides can practice gadget making so that they can teach the sec 1s properly.
Sec1s and the available Sec2s and 3s will practice gadget making and help the sec1s out in the canteen. The poles can be stabilised with bricks.
Sec 1s and 2s will be tested on their gadget making knowledge and understanding, to make sure that all doubts are cleared.
11.45am – 12.15pm: All levels: Everyone will get together in their new camp patrols and get prepare or re-do their plans for camp.
12.15pm – 12.45pm: All levels: Singalong.

Sec2s and 3s: The remaining guides whom have yet to take the Health badge would be tested by Ms Lin.

Guides doing tent pitching will finish 15min earlier than the others, thus they will use the time to unpitch and pack the tent, have a quick water break and prepare the items required for the next activity. For guides doing fire lighting and baggage rack, they will not need the full 1 hour thus once they are done, they can have a water break and prepare for the next activity as well.

All guides will split into their camp patrol groupings and plan their cheer and patrol identity.
4.00pm-4.30pm: Patrols will plan the food items needed for outdoor cooking meals and also, plan the number of poles needed for baggage rack, clothesline, shoe rack etc.
4.30pm- 5.15pm: Patrols will practice camp craft in the canteen. The poles can be stabilised with bricks.

CLs (Lixuan and Cassandra) will be in charge of the camp craft activity overall, ensuring the the timing for each activity is adhered to.
Patrol leaders within the camp patrols (2 each) will ensure that all patrol members have water breaks and they are on time for the next activity.
Patrol leaders are Weishuang, Nicole (patrol second to replace Menakah), Christy, Thivya, Andrea, Rebecca, Elin, Jonas, Charmaine, Deborah, Yiying and Shereen (patrol second to replace Janice)
Patrol leaders and patrol seconds (all sec 3s) will make sure that everyone in their patrol understands and knows how to do the particular activity (eg. tent pitching steps) Patrol leaders should teach the steps especially to the sec 1 guides.
Patrol seconds will delegate the roles of each patrol member, such that during Camp, everyone will know what they have to do so as not to waste any time.
Patrol seconds are Nicole, Lixuan, Yitong, Sihui, Cassandra, Serena, Shereen. As some patrols do not have any patrol seconds, patrol leaders are to take their place.

Patrol leaders are to collate the plans (list of food items, group names and cheers) after discussion with their patrols.
Patrol seconds are to assist the patrol leaders, and also collate the design and the no. of poles needed. They are to check with the QMs (Deborah and Rebecca) on whether the number of poles needed are available.
Patrol leaders and patrol seconds are to make sure that the discussion with patrol members do not stray from the topic and the time slots given are used wisely.
4.15-5.15pm:
For camp craft, sec 3s in each patrol are to teach sec 1s and 2s the steps to gadget making. If there is time left, they will be tested by the CLs and ACLs.
5.15pm-5.45pm: Andrea and Elin in charge for Singalong.
